Relief for the work behind the mission
Lluvia means rain. Like rain after a long drought, we bring nonprofits the specialists, systems, and capacity to grow, across strategy, operations, finance, people, and development.
Too much mission gets lost to admin
Every hour a nonprofit leader spends untangling payroll, chasing audit documents, or rebuilding a budget is an hour not spent on the community they serve.
We believe nonprofits deserve the same caliber of operational expertise as any large organization, without the cost of a full-time hire. That's why we built Lluvia.

A three-year strategic plan and the governance to carry it out.
Challenge: A grassroots collective of pedestrian and community advocates had real momentum and a clear mission, but lacked both a strategic direction and the governance structure to grow past an informal stage.
Approach: We led the development of a three-year strategic plan grounded in member survey input and a SWOT analysis, organized around five priority areas spanning advocacy, community education, partnerships, infrastructure, and organizational capacity. Alongside that, we worked with the board to build the governance to carry it out, drafting the founding charter, membership structure, and board composition, then facilitating the meeting where it was formally ratified.
Result: The organization now has both a clear roadmap for the next three years and the governing structure to execute it, completing its shift from an informal collective into a fully structured nonprofit built to scale its advocacy work.

A trusted advisory partnership, renewed through 2028.
Challenge: This organization needed steady, senior-level operations and finance leadership to strengthen its infrastructure while building internal leadership capacity on a lean team.
Approach: Our Founder and CEO, serves as a senior advisor on the organization's Executive Advisory Board, partnering directly with the CEO and leadership team to strengthen financial and operational systems, and mentoring the organization's leadership as they expanded into bigger roles.
Result: The board extended the advisory term through 2028, a direct reflection of the trust built over years of partnership. We continue to support the organization's strategic growth planning and the development of a new performance framework for its team.

Scaling an internship program to a dozen interns a semester.
Challenge: This organization's internship program was informal, just one or two interns with no real structure, sitting within a single department.
Approach: We built and scaled the program from the ground up, developing the structure, recruitment process, and cross-department coordination to support it year-round.
Result: The program grew into a robust, year-round initiative spanning multiple departments, with as many as 12 interns engaged across teams each semester, creating a sustained pipeline of talent and mentorship for the organization.
-
Replacing fragmented systems with reliable infrastructure.
Challenge: This organization was running its HR, finance, and operations on a patchwork of outdated systems that didn't talk to each other, manual and error prone, and increasingly hard to manage as the organization grew.
Approach: We led a deep dive into the organization's systems, evaluated options, and selected a platform to consolidate payroll, benefits, HR, and compliance into one place. We then led the full implementation hands-on, a process that turned out far messier than the initial scope suggested, catching and correcting critical gaps along the way, including a retirement deposit automation failure and a state tax filing error, before either became a larger compliance problem.
Result: The organization moved off its fragmented legacy systems and onto reliable, fully implemented payroll and HR infrastructure that supports it today, with the risks that could have caused real financial and compliance harm caught and resolved during rollout rather than after the fact.

From urgent project work to a standing fractional role.
Challenge: This organization needed urgent, specialized support on two fronts at once: a federal incurred cost audit with real compliance stakes, and an open question around state tax nexus for its membership base.
Approach: We stepped in to lead both projects, working through the audit documentation and system access gaps with the federal agency, and untangling the state tax nexus question with the organization's tax advisors. What started as project-based support on those two issues has since grown into a standing fractional finance and operations role.
Result: The organization resolved both the audit and the tax question, and now has an ongoing fractional partner for its finance and operations work, evidence of a relationship built project by project into a sustained partnership.
